PowerUp Project: Powering up former energy sector workers to re-enter the job market

PA PARTNERS FOR SKILLS DEVELOPMENT: Open call for individuals to participate in a pilot e-course workshop in the framework of Erasmus+ EU Program/ KA220

The project PowerUp addresses a general priority, namely environment and the fight against climate change and two sectoral priorities, namely increasing the flexibility of opportunities in vocational education and training and contributing to innovation in these areas. The aim is to addresSs the critical need of limiting job losses, as a consequence of the green transition in Europe.

By digging deeper into the Green Deal, this project is in line with the ‘Just Transition Mechanism’ & the ‘Renewable Energy Directive’, which strongly promotes re-skilling opportunities for coal workers, while facilitating employment opportunities in the renewable energy sector. In addition, the project supports Actions 1 & 6 of the ‘New Skills Agenda for Europe’ by paving reskilling pathways for low-skilled adults, helping them to acquire new skills through a C-VET framework.

Furthermore, the project will address the needs of education and training, and job hunting of the target group by implementing the specific activities that have been foreseen: namely by developing a good practice guide with the state of art in VET and unemployment policies, the design and development of an e-course, the development and launch of a digital job-hunting platform IT tool as an innovative and flexible solution to local job hunting and with an up to date policy recommendations toolkit to be disseminated and presented to EU decision makers and push for policy reforms in the field of energy transition.

The PA PARTNERS Project team address an open call to VET providers, sector representatives and key players/employers, social partners, associations of employees and employers and former fossil-fuel station workers to participate in the realization of pilot testing of a hybrid e-course workshop, which will be held at 03.04.2024 from 11.00 to 13.00 in Neapolis University premises in order to ensuring that the received feedback reflects the core of the key target audience’s needs and insights.
